This spring, I’m doing more than cleaning closets. I’m clearing out the mental clutter you’ve helped accumulate.
Clearing My Mindset
Let’s start with my mindset. I used to believe that I had to project strength at all times. I would push through pain just to prove something—to myself, to others, maybe even to you. I wore the mask of resilience, thinking it validated my existence.
But that mindset? It’s outdated. I’m learning to embrace softness as strength. It’s okay to feel like a hot mess sometimes. I'm beginning to understand that creating space for grief is just as important as making room for gratitude.
Just like a breath of fresh air disrupts stale thoughts, I’m shifting the narrative and allowing myself to sit in discomfort. This isn't weakness; it's a brave new perspective that fosters growth.
Reevaluating Relationships
Next up: relationships. Since you entered my life, some connections have faded. People who didn’t know how to support me—or didn’t want to—slowly disappeared, leaving behind a void that hurt.
Yet, as I reflect on this change, I realize that it also made space for real, deep friendships. These are the kinds of connections where I can say “I’m not okay today” and be met with love, not pity. No more surface-level exchanges that drain my energy; I'm prioritizing relationships that uplift me and inspire growth.
I’m setting boundaries with those who drain my energy and cherishing the relationships that truly matter. It’s all about nurturing connections that resonate with my current self, not the person I used to be.

Transforming My Expectations
Lastly, let's tackle my expectations. This one’s big. I’m letting go of old standards I used to hold myself to—the relentless pursuit of perfection that has held many of us back.
I’m learning to meet myself where I am. Sometimes, success is simply making it to the end of the day without tears. Sometimes it’s taking a shower or allowing myself to say no without guilt. Each small victory deserves recognition, no matter how minor it may seem.
I’m not lowering the bar; I’m changing the game. The new game is rooted in self-compassion, an essential ingredient to reclaiming my space and nurturing a mindset that flourishes.

The Art of Spring Cleaning
Spring cleaning isn’t just about dusting shelves or throwing out old clothes. It’s a holistic approach to life—an opportunity to create space for the life I want to live. Imagine it as a ritual. Much like we clear out forgotten corners of our homes, I'm examining the corners of my heart and mind. Dusting away outdated beliefs, misconceptions, and toxic relationships opens the door for something brighter.
Fresh air symbolizes fresh starts; the power to bloom anew lies within me. Spring embodies rebirth, mirroring the transformations I’m embracing. A fresh perspective helps me rediscover my own essence.
To you, my friend and reader:
Engaging in Self-Reflection
As I embark on this journey, I invite you to participate in this spring cleaning process—not just for our spaces, but for our minds and souls. Reflect on what no longer serves you. Identify the mindsets that might be holding you back and consider how you can nurture a healthier relationship with yourself.
Create a safe space for your feelings, and don’t shy away from the messiness of life. It’s beautiful but can also be complicated. Nurturing your authentic self takes courage, but the rewards are worth it.
Taking the First Steps
So, where do we start? Grab a blanket, a journal, and your favorite warm beverage. Begin with reflection:
1. List Your Old Mindsets: What beliefs about strength have you outgrown? It may be time to release those outdated notions.
2. Evaluate Your Relationships: Who brings you joy? Who drains your energy? Focus on nurturing true connections while letting go of those that no longer align with who you are.
Whether through writing, voice memos, or quiet contemplation, articulate your thoughts. Allow yourself to clear your mind and create room for new growth.

Embracing the Journey
Spring cleaning isn’t a one-time event; it’s a continuous journey. As seasons shift, so will my mindset, relationships, and expectations. I’m committed to this growth, knowing that each step leads me closer to the life I envision.
So here’s to fresh starts and deep breaths. Here’s to the ongoing process of reclaiming my space and nurturing a mindset and a life in alignment with my true self.
By embracing this transformative journey, I become an active participant in my own story, eagerly anticipating the next chapter filled with joy, connection, and resilience.
Fresh air. Fresh beginnings. I’m ready.
Reclaiming my space,
E.P.
